Pet Sitting Services in Solana Beach, CA

Pet Sitting in Solana Beach, CA

Solana Beach is small enough to walk across and busy enough that half its residents are somewhere else on any given weekday. The Coaster pulls out of the station at Cedros and Lomas Santa Fe before most people have finished coffee. The Surfliner comes through headed for Los Angeles. Somebody is driving down to Sorrento Valley, somebody else is on a plane out of Lindbergh, and the dog in the house on Barbara Avenue is on his own until further notice.

Splooters covers Solana Beach from Carlsbad, fifteen minutes up the 101. We come to your home, take care of your animals the way you would, and send notes and photos after every visit so the day is not a mystery.

The Station Is a Blessing and a Problem

Living three blocks from a train station is why a lot of people picked this town. You park once, you ride to downtown or up to LA, you skip the 5 entirely. It is genuinely one of the best commutes in the county.

It is also why so many Solana Beach pets spend long days alone. A train commute is not a flexible commute. You cannot duck out at noon and come back. You are on the 5:40 or you are on the 6:52, and neither one is negotiable when your dog has been holding it since seven in the morning.

A standing midday visit solves it for good. Same sitter, same window, every weekday you need it. You get your commute back and your dog gets his afternoon.

Where We Work in Solana Beach

The whole city, and it does not take us long to cross it.

Down along Coast Highway 101 and the Cedros Avenue Design District. The bluff top condos and the streets running west toward Fletcher Cove and Tide Beach Park. Eden Gardens, tucked in behind Valley Avenue, where the lots are small and the neighborhood has been a neighborhood since long before anybody said North County. Up the hill through Lomas Santa Fe, Santa Fe Hills, Isla Verde and the homes ringing the golf course. Out toward San Elijo Lagoon on the Cardiff side, and down to the Via de la Valle line where Solana Beach hands off to Del Mar.

If you are just outside city limits in Cardiff, Rancho Santa Fe or Carmel Valley, call and ask. We are probably already on your street.

In Home Pet Sitting, Not Boarding

Boarding means your pet absorbs the whole cost of your trip. New building, new noise, new people, a kennel run next to a dog he has never met. In home pet sitting means the only thing that changes is that somebody friendly shows up.

Every visit covers:

  • Feeding and fresh water, portioned exactly to your instructions
  • Potty breaks and yard time
  • Play, love and affection, which is most of the visit and not a bullet we added for length
  • Medication on your schedule
  • Litter box scooping and pet area cleanup
  • Light house care while we are there

Visits are 35, 45 or 60 minutes, one sitter, one to two pets. Additional pets are $5 each per service. Observed holidays add $10 per service. Anything booked inside 72 hours adds $10 per service.

Dog Pet Sitting Service in Solana Beach

Here is the thing every Solana Beach dog owner already knows and every newcomer learns fast: you live in a beach town where your dog cannot go to the beach. Solana Beach keeps dogs off the sand, Fletcher Cove included, which is why the parking near Del Mar’s North Beach fills up with cars registered three miles north of it. Check the current city posting for the details, because the rules and the signage do get revised.

So the exercise has to come from somewhere else. The bluff top walks, the Coastal Rail Trail, La Colonia Park, the long loop up through Lomas Santa Fe. Our dog pet sitting service is built around getting your dog a real outlet, not a lap of the cul de sac. A young lab in Santa Fe Hills gets worked. A twelve year old cattle dog in Eden Gardens gets a slow walk, his medication, and someone to sit on the floor with him. Both get an honest report either way, including the things you would rather know now than later.

Overnight Pet Sitting and Late Night Coverage

Some pets do fine all day and unravel after dark. If that describes yours, bring it up at the Meet & Greet. Plenty of clients pair a late evening visit with an early morning one, which brackets the night and keeps puppies, seniors and anxious dogs on a routine that holds. If you need overnight pet sitting, call 484-889-8363 and we will work through what your pet actually requires.

Shows at the Belly Up Do Not End Early

You bought tickets months ago. Doors at eight, opener at nine, the band you came for goes on at ten thirty, and then you are standing on Cedros talking to people until midnight because that is what happens.

None of that is a problem. It is only a problem for the dog who was fed at six and expected you at ten. An evening visit while you are out means you stay for the encore instead of doing the drive home calculation halfway through the set. Same goes for a long dinner in the village or a night at the fairgrounds up the road.

Start With a Free Meet & Greet

We come to your Del Mar home at no cost, meet your pets, learn the routine, find out which gate sticks and where the leash lives, and answer every question you have.

After that you will get an activation email for the Scout for Pets app. Pet profiles, scheduling, invoices and messaging all live in one place.

Then you book what you need, whether that is one week in August or every Tuesday and Thursday indefinitely.
